So Cool it Hurts: Recreating NYFW Street Style

So Cool it Hurts: Recreating NYFW Street Style

All glam and no rest for the patrons of New York Fashion week. Sidewalks and streets were filled this month with impeccably styled fashion gurus vying for a spot on the “Street Style Best Dressed” list. This September’s crew did not disappoint. Unexpected color combos, bold palettes, and layering brilliance took center stage off the runway. These street style superstars are my fashion muses, and I always find myself drawing styling inspiration from their ingenuity. And since my front row seat ticket to Michael Kors was lost in the mail… I am turning my head from the runway to the bustling sidewalks outside the tents to ogle at the not-so-average Joes waiting to take their seats.

These killer looks caught me eye and inspired some creative styling mojo. My goal: to take fashion forward ensembles and recreate them in an easy-to-wear, Beckett way. Enjoy!

1. Good girl gone bad

I love the juxtaposition of the ultra fem petal pink with the edginess of the leather jacket.

2. Monochromatic magic

Try mixing 2 shades of olive and army green for an unexpected color combo.

3. casual cotton meets cocktail couture

Dress down a luxurious fabric like silk or velvet by layering with a basic tee. Our new black velvet shift dress is perfect for this simple, yet edgy look!

4. pleats & sneaks

Pairing cocktail dresses with sneakers, although bad-ass, is not always the easiest trend to pull off, but finding that perfect pleated dress will elevate your fall 2016 style with or without some “pumped up kicks”.

5. working girl “works it”

I am obsessed with the oversized menswear stripes paired with a sexy little leather skirt. Such a great marriage of Good vs Evil.

Meet my favorite street style babes. These two are killing it their ripped jeans and white blouses. So simple, so amazing, so jealous. Thankfully, this look is pretty easy to emulate. I took a basic blouse and tied a belt as a necklace for a fresh new look. Voila, high fashion!

Time to hit the streets with your new favorite look for Fall!
